Everything in the announcements so far looks quite good, but I can already see myself walking in circles in the capital city and un-subbing, because of the underlying issues that had me leave in the first place.
Since they’re revisiting talent trees, I’m hoping we get some news on these topics:
1. **Empty Servers, No Large Scale Content:**
My server has ~5 guilds with heroic progress, and none in Mythic. Is there going to be an attempt to bring the ‘Massively’, or is Dragonflight going to be a lobby MMO, like BFA/Shadowlands are?
2. **Lacking Social Elements:**
PvP had to add a solo Q for a 2 person game mode.
The game modes for casuals, LFR/Heroics, have very limited social interaction, and being paired with random players of random skill levels really kills the challenge aspect.
People are asking for an M+ queue.
3. **General Game Feel:**
When I played from launch through LK, I was able to raid and make progress with a raid group full of keyboard turners, children, and retirement aged folks on bad internet, on the one and only difficulty. The proportion of people who actually had to know what they were doing to clear most of the content was usually pretty low.
As the demands of endgame increased Blizz added the LFR mode to replace what used to be the entire game. A super social, relatively relaxed game.
Game modes like Warfronts really seemed like a step in the right direction that I would have loved to have them follow through on. Large scale, semi-difficult content for groups.
**Rant About Feeling of Accomplishment:**
Guilds clear the bosses as fast as they are able. When enough people are stuck with no progress, Blizz nerfs the boss. It leaves me feeling like every boss I clear is Blizzard just slowly lowering the bar until I can clear it, which feels more like a psychological trick then a designed challenge. Feels like there was no design intent to the difficulty or boss encounters, and Blizz just has a clear rate metric per week that they try to hit via nerfs.
Are your Mythic/Heroic clears actual clears, or did you just wait in line until Blizzard let you win? This really hollows out the overcoming challenge hook that I used to feel.
