Has the audio bug on Xbox series X|S that makes it sound like your headset is melting been fixed or addressed?

I’m not sure how many people are familiar with this, but on next gen Xbox’s there’s an audio glitch that starts with the sound cutting out and stuttering. After that happens you lose audio completely, which is followed by this horrible sound that persists until you hard close the game and restart. The first time this happened I didn’t realize it was an Overwatch issue and thought my headset was completely fucked, which really sucked as I had just bought it less than 6 months ago. Eventually I realized it was a problem on Overwatch’s end.

I haven’t played since this happened, like a month ago. Not only do I just not want to hear that again, but I worry that the noise could actually damage my headset if it happens enough times, or maybe even my ears for that matter. I’ve just been playing other stuff hoping it will get fixed, or that whenever OW2 finally launches the new client will make it a nonissue.

Just wondering if it’s been fixed and it’s safe to return, or if it’s at least been addressed by Blizzard.

Thanks guys.
