  1. Here’s an old tweet from a developer about Drakonids:
    • July 10, 2014 – “@Loreology Dragonmen = Drakonids? To create dragonmen without Nefarian’s influence possible?” “Metzen has ruled that they are separate races from the dragon race. They became dragonspawn and drakonid thanks to the dragons they served (via intentional alteration or via “unintended side effect of hanging out with dragons”).”

  2. It’d be a decent explanation for their origins; it’s unclear whether the dragonspawn we see in-game are the originals transformed from that state or if they’re the descendants.

Again because they just haven’t really given us *any* lore for the drakonid and dragonspawn other than, “Used to be mortals, got turned into dragon-people”.

  3. What if dragon boobs are just an evolutionary/developmental leftover? Kind of like the tailbone, or human males having nipples despite there being no purpose for them (… right?)

Have we seen instances mortals being turned into dragonspawn as a reward of service or something?

I feel like it’s somewhere in the lore.

  5. Knowing the quality the writing team puts out, it’ll probably be even more nonsensical

They should make a new evolutionary branch for all those six-limbed vertebrates.

  7. Aah yes. Surely there’s a logical explanation for why these reptiles have boobs. Surely no dev would ever put tits on his creation for no reason at all.

Congrats, you’re a better lore writer than any of the ones Blizz are actually paying

  9. It’s worth pointing out we see mortals — two-legged mortals mind — transform into dragonspawn in the Blade’s Edge Mountains as part of a rogue black dragon cult.

  10. Why do I have the weird mindset that the dragons just had fun with horses? Horny dragons like in Rick and Morty.
